Gerard J. Eding is director of National Accounts at the macroeconomic heart of Statistics Netherland which set its mission to inform society in a timely and adequate manner about relevant (macro) economic developments in the Netherlands. The value created is that many separate, individual statistics and data are combined into a coherent and consistent overview.
For which the relationship between the economy and other phenomena, such as the environment and sustainability, broader welfare measurement, globalisation, digitisation, distributional effects and regional development is increasingly described.
Before Gerard held various (management) positions at Statistics Netherland in Government Finance, Business Statistics and Social and Spatial Statistics. He graduate (Cum Laude) at the University of Groningen in Macro and Regional economics and started his career at the University of Groningen and in consultancy. He currently also hold various (managing) positions in international bodies, such as chair of the EU Committee on Monetary, Financial and Balance of Payments Statistics (CMFB) and chair of the UNECE Steering Group on National Accounts.
